Dot Com Mob  is committed to ensuring the confidentiality and privacy of our website users’ personal information.

We adhere to the Australian National Privacy Principles as contained in the Privacy Act 1998.

If you enter any personal information on the Dot Com Mob website, such as an inquiry or similar, we will keep your personal information confidential and secure.

All of your information is kept in a location that is protected by secure servers. Personal information will not be disclosed without your consent; the only exception to this is where we would be required by law to do so.

We do not accept responsibility for the use of any information that has been obtained through unauthorised access.

DONOR PRIVACY Policy statement Dot Com Mob abides by the Collections for Charitable Purposes Act 1939 and is a registered Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) and Income Tax Exempt Charity (ITEC). Dot Com Mob  is a holder of a Section 6 & 7 Licence under the Collections for Charitable Purposes Act 1939.

Dot Com Mob engages in fundraising activities and events in support of the provision of services to clients and abides by the principles as set out in the Privacy Act 1988 [amended by the Privacy Amendment (Private Sector) Act 2000].

Definitions used in this Policy
Donation is a voluntary contribution by a donor of money, property, goods or services to the organisation for the purpose of furthering the objectives of the organisation.

Donor is an individual or entity who willingly makes a contribution of value to the organisation.

Fundraiser is a person who carries out activities for remuneration for the purpose of raising funds for the objectives of the organisation.

Organisation is an entity incorporated under Commonwealth or State law and established for a purpose other than profit which is Guide Dogs SA.NT.

Principles
The organisation undertakes a variety of fundraising programs which includes but is not limited to:

  • Direct Mail
  • Special Events
  • Bequests / Planned Giving
  • Community Support
  • Corporate Relationships
  • Capital Fundraising Campaign.
The organisation is bound by taxation law to retain detailed financial records of donor activity for seven years including donor details and the level of their financial support. Donor details are held securely and are only used for fundraising activities.

The organisation will ensure a donor is given prior knowledge and has gained approval before any recognition of their donation is made public.

Donor’s names only will be acknowledged in the organisation’s electronic or paper based publications. If a donor does not wish this practice to be applied the organisation will act in accordance with the wishes of the donor.

When a donor or prospective donor has expressly denied permission to the organisation to do so, the fundraiser or organisation will not disclose the identity of that donor or prospective donor to any member of the public.

Donors of the organisation may elect to be re-assigned from the database by notifying the organisation in writing or by marking the appropriate block on the organisation’s marketing or fundraising material. Such details will be re-assigned by the organisation immediately the notification is received, provided this does not affect any legal requirements.

The organisation will use a mailing house or consultant to process mail-outs provided a confidentiality agreement is in place to ensure that donor privacy is protected.

The online facility for donations to the organisation is secure and encrypted and data stored on the organisations’ computers is password protected. The organisation will not use or release donor information about individual visits to the website or information that the donor may provide electronically to any other organisation, person or group without the express consent of the donor.

A donor has the right to make a request to make amendments to the donor’s records held by the organisation if these records are in the donor’s opinion incomplete, incorrect, out-of-date or misleading.

Dot Com Mob  is committed to protecting and maintaining the privacy, accuracy and security of all donor information including the financial level of their support and will not exchange, rent or otherwise share donor contact details with another person or body corporate without the express written consent of the donor.
